The Lescott saga

I dunno about you guys, but I purposefully cut myself off from the ridiculous rumors that surface in copious quantities this time of year. But this Lescott saga is getting too big to ignore. The whole transfer request, money grubbing thing seems so out of character from the Joleon we've come to love and everyone seems to have their reason for why we should take the deal.

Don't get me wrong, £15 million is a lot of money. More than he's worth and triple our buying price, so it's just smart business. But football is more than business.
Moyes has spent the last seven years carefully crafting a team. Not a bunch of overpaid superstars who happen to play for the same side, but a real team. Guys who work together and seem to love the club.
Until recently, I thought Lescott was one of them. And I, in turn, loved him for it.
But now he wants to go. So fine, let him go, especially if his discontent is going to be a rotting apple in the locker room. It's not the atmosphere Moyes has worked so hard to achieve and nobody, no matter how much we love him, has the right to spoil that for some cash.
So I guess this is goodbye, Joleon. Even if you don't leave this transfer window, you're as good as gone in my mind.
What do you guys think?

Well said Sara. I'm a new Everton fan from Canada...mom was from liverpool. So I don't know a lot of history...yet. But I agree, Lescott should go. Another club wants him...he doesn't want to stay at Goodison, cut him lose and spend the big bucks elsewhere. He was a disgrace versus Arsenal.
